A Private Universe: The Magic of the Unscripted Laugh

Engagement events in Bangladesh are a beautiful kind of chaos. From the moment you walk in, you are surrounded. There are hundreds of guests to greet, elders to bless you, friends making jokes, and a constant hum of celebration in the air. You are the center of attention for hours.
But as a photographer, the moments I am always hunting for are the quiet ones. The moments where the noise stops.
Sometimes, to get that, I just have to create a tiny, private room for the two of you.
In this photograph, I asked them to step underneath the veil. I didn't tell them how to stand, and I certainly didn't tell them to smile. I just let them have a few seconds to themselves under that sheer piece of fabric.
